2. More Eco-friendly
If you are tired of living a wasteful lifestyle and are resolved to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle this year, you might feel a little overwhelmed about all of the big changes in your life.
Starting something new can be stressful when you are unsure where to begin. itās also very common for people to do things that harm the environment, without even realizing it.
Rest assured, you have already completed the most difficult step ā deciding to make a change.
Focus on smaller changes you can make easily before you tackle the more difficult steps of your eco-friendly resolution. Here are some easy and small changes you can make in your everyday life to help live a more eco-friendly lifestyle:
1. Unplug

On the surface this means abandoning your electronics and enjoying more traditional activities that require less energy usage. However, if you really want to reduce your carbon footprint, you need to unplug your electronics.
Many electronic devices ā like televisions and battery chargers ā are known as vampire electronics because they suck energy even when not in use. Unplugging these electronics eliminates this waste.
You can also cut the excess by plugging your electronics into a power strip and turning the strip off.
for exemplo I’m a huge culprit of leaving my laptop in sleep mode overnight, and I hardly ever turn it off completely. If itās on, itās using energy. And if you donāt like dealing with the time it takes to turn back on, a lot of computers have an option to set a time for it to automatically boot back up!
2. Eco fashion friendly

They say the clothes make the (wo)man and your clothes are an excellent opportunity to showcase your green lifestyle.
Avoid jumping on every new fashion trend that comes out and look for garments made from organic materials instead. If your shirt or pants rip, reach for the needle and thread instead of throwing them away. A quick patch job can save you money and protect the environment as well (More eco-friendly).
3.Reduce Water Waste
You can live a more eco-friendly lifestyle by using less water and cutting back on your bottled water purchases.
Shower at a colder temperature to reduce your water heater usage.
Finally, donāt forget to turn the water off when brushing your teeth or shaving and use the lights only when you absolutely must.

An interesting read. I turn off the power on everything without thinking about it, always have done. But it’s amazing how many people don’t. Thanks for sharing.

It’s really important that we as humans start to take a more eco friendly stance as we watch the world cripple before us. Great tips!

Change is beautiful no matter how scary. To live a more eco-friendly life is so tempting and hope that’ll be part of my journey this year.
Thanks for the great post on how to live a more eco friendly life!
It’s really important to unplug any electronics we have in our homes if we are not using it. It’s really a must right now.
when i was still a kid, i always hear the same tips as well. until now, they are still the same. the reminders are still the same. maybe, it tells that people never really learn. very sad. it’s really a challenge for everyone to start doing things for the better.
What great ideas! I do these already, especially unplug. Since it is getting darker later in the day, I usually use sunlight and just natural air.
Cool tips. I’m happy to share that I have been doing these already. š
I’m an advocate of Leave No Trace and Sustainable Fashion (more on textile upcycling). Synthetic/conventional materials are easily disposable and it adds to pollution that generates environmental hazards.
Sound mind, sound body. Sometimes the best we can expect from ourselves and the world around us is to slooooooooooooooow down.
It’s amazing such simple things can make any difference, but it does! I come from an area where it doesn’t rain much, and sometimes they cut momentarily our water supply, so I’m all for water-saving!
Thanks for sharing this post. I never really implement the first point mentioned about unplugging electronics. I understand how it is helpful.
All great tips and such simple ones which will have a deep impact. Thanks for sharing.
